Cultural Festival 2013

Cultural Festival

Today Richmond School attended the first performances of the Primary Schools Cultural Festival 2013, being held at the CBS Arena. We all travelled by bus and for many of us it was our first time at the Arena. However a number of the boys recognised the ASB Stadium as we entered the car park area, the loudest cheer came from our normally quiet Michael. For a moment there I think the boys forgot about the festival and thought we were going to watch the Crusaders, never mind next time boys.
Although the Cultural Festival Performance was long, especially for our wee Room 1 tamariki, we did enjoy the opportunity to see other schools in action. Some of the schools performing today eg. Christchurch East maybe a school that we are attending next year.
Our tamariki really showed their true Te RITO colours today by the way they supported the performers on stage. Once again, I felt really proud of our little kura and the sense of whanaungatanga that exist within our tamariki.  All in all it was a fun outing and a chance to see and do something different for the afternoon.

Watching the Kapa Haka Groups and doing a little Kapa Haka of our own on the way back to school.
