Life Education

On Monday 23 July Room 3 caught up with Harold the giraffe from Life Education. This year our Life Education focus was based on learning how to keep our vital organs such as the brain, heart, lungs, stomach and the intestines healthy. We learnt what these organs do for us and what they needed from us to keep them in top working order. We now know how all our organs are connected and how they work together to keep us on the move and functioning well.
Did you know that we have over 70 km of nerves throughout our bodies. Messages travel through our nerves system at about 200 km / hr from the brain to different parts of our body and can travel at up to 200 km / hr if the body is under some kind of stress. That explains a lot wouldn't you say! We learnt many interesting facts like these while catching up with our old friend Harold, who can still bring a smile to our faces even though we all know that he is a hand held puppet. We look forward to his next visit in 2013.
