VSA Dress Up For Change Day.

VSA Dress Up For Change Day.

On Friday 16 August we celebrated 'VSA Dress For Change Day' at Richmond School by doing just that, we all came to school wearing clothing depicting our own cultures or our favourite pieces of clothing. Ashleen wore her beautiful Indian clothing, while Salote wore her very special Sunday School dress. Hannah wore a special dress that her Nana had bought back from Hawaii for her, Whaea Sharon came dressed as a Kiwiana Girl. We all looked fabulous and felt really special.
We also all purchased a very special friendship bracelets, some of us bought more than one. The money we raised will be going to the wonderful people that do volunteer work overseas. We have one of those special people here at our school, Whaea Alice spent a year in Papa New Guinea teaching. Whaea Alice organised this awesome day for us and she has been a great source of information about the type of work volunteers do in the Pacific. We are really pleased that we have been able to help in our own small way.
